NACC acts in Phuket land case

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has resolved to indict a former Phuket deputy governor and multiple land officials over the unlawful issuance of land title deeds covering more than 13 rai within the island's Kamala mountain forest a national reserved forest.
Surapong Intharathaworn, deputy secretary-general of the NACC, said yesterday the commission had found prima facie criminal and serious disciplinary wrongdoing by Niwit (also known as Paphinwich) Arunrat, during his tenure as deputy governor of Phuket, and Paithoon Lertkrai, a former Phuket provincial land officer, along with other officials.
