'Jury saw through paedophile's web of lies'

A PAEDOPHILE who spun a web of lies to cover up his vile crimes has been jailed.

Police first heard about Charlie Pearson, 75, from Camberley, in December 2021, when a family member of his victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, came forward.
It was reported that Pearson sexually assaulted and touched a child under the age of 13. Investigating officers conducted interviews with Pearson where he strongly denied the offences, and continued to do so during his trial.
