A PAEDOPHILE who spun a web of lies to cover up his vile crimes has been jailed.

'Jury saw through paedophile's web of lies'

Police first heard about Charlie Pearson, 75, from Camberley, in December 2021, when a family member of his victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, came forward.

It was reported that Pearson sexually assaulted and touched a child under the age of 13. Investigating officers conducted interviews with Pearson where he strongly denied the offences, and continued to do so during his trial.
