Firefighters in dramatic rescue in popular woods

EMERGENCY services were called to a woodland area in Accrington after a walker slipped down an embankment.

Paramedics and firefighters were called to an embankment off Laund Grove in Baxenden at 00.24am on Saturday September 27.

A casualty had fallen down an embankment leading into Laund Clough.
