Olympic move for American football teenage star Bobby

A TEENAGER is flourishing in his flag football career and has now been moved up to the Olympic world championship selection squad.

Bobby Bridges from Oswaldtwistle will be training once a month with the squad in the hope he can earn his place as part of the 2028 LA Olympics Great Britain team.

He secured his place as the only British quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) Academy in Loughborough at the age of 16.

The Hollins pupil was one of the last 11 boys competing for a spot at the academy.

He is now in his third year at the NFL Academy and since being there he has played games all over the world, including America, Germany, Paris, Dublin, Madrid and lots more.

Bobby, 18, has also played against the top college teams in the US both out in America and at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium in London in front of huge crowds.
