FOR years, Sir Alex Ferguson had a canny way of rebuilding from the roots and unearthing a blossoming new set of talent at Old Trafford.
Well, it seems, Rob Baxter’s work down at Sandy Park in creating ‘Exeter 2.0’ is starting to flourish as the Chiefs produced another emphatic display to see off Sale Sharks in their latest Gallagher Premiership tussle.
Not content with handing out a record-breaking defeat on champions Saracens in the opening week of the season, the Devonians produced another on-field assault that bullied the other finalists from last season into submission.
The Sharks, victorious in their opening two games of the season, were simply blown away by their youthful hosts, who claimed touchdowns from Greg Fisilau, Dan Frost, Josh Iosefa-Scott, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, Niall Armstrong to go alongside a last-minute penalty try.
It was yet another vintage showing from the Chiefs, whose last top-flight shut out was back in September 2014 against London Welsh– and stretched their unbeaten home record in all competitions to over a calendar year.
