Barnes hits four in nine-try rout

HAMPSHIRE ran in nine tries to thrash Surrey and kick-start their campaign with Curtis Barnes crossing for four.
Both teams came in having lost their first games and were eager to record their first wins of the pool stage. Surrey started in a scrappy manner, seeming desperate to try and gain a foothold into the match and Hampshire made them pay with the first points after they capitalised on a loose lineout.
Ben Holt broke through the Surrey defence and executed a simple two-on-one for Harrison Young to touch down. Lewis Dennet added the extras, in what was a superb showing with the boot as he kicked all his shots at goal.
