Frankfurt Airport wrapped up its India cargo roadshow across four cities, reinforcing its role as one of Europe's leading air freight hubs. The tour sparked dialogue, showcased smart cargo solutions, and strengthened India-Germany trade ties.

After a successful run in China last year, Frankfurt Airport extended its global outreach to one of its most significant trade partners, India, via a four-city cargo roadshow in early April 2025. Covering Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi, the roadshow spotlighted Frankfurt's role as Europe's leading air cargo hub and India's growing demand for reliable, tech-enabled global freight connectivity.
India, with its expanding export ecosystem and rising need for resilient supply chains, was a natural next step for Frankfurt Airport's strategic engagements. Each city welcomed over 150 key stakeholders across the cargo value chain—airlines, freight forwarders, exporters, government officials, and logistics companies, who came together to explore cross-border collaboration and future-proof cargo solutions. The roadshow also saw active participation from Frankfurt’s cargo ecosystem, with representatives from Perishable Center Frankfurt and Swissport sharing key insights.
Frankfurt Airport's position as a cargo powerhouse is rooted in its scale and service breadth. In 2024, it managed approximately 2.1 million metric tonnes of cargo and 61.6 million passengers. Hosting 250+ companies in its cargo precinct and employing around 80,000 people, it's Germany's largest workplace. Its unrivalled multimodal connectivity enables cargo to reach any European economic centre within 18 hours by road.
MUMBAI Kickstarting the dialogue on specialised cargo corridors between India and EuropeThe Indian leg of the roadshow launched in Mumbai, India’s financial and cargo powerhouse. Opening remarks by Kristine Heinisch, Director of Cargo Development at Frankfurt Airport, emphasized co-creating value through connectivity and specialized cargo services.
