Nomos Glashütte's new slam dunk of a GMT watch, the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer

Among the usual suspects of Watches & Wonders headliners in 2025 was an unexpected list-topper. You might recognise right away what makes German Nomos Glashütte's quirky but down-to-earth travel watch a winner from its affordable positioning, in-house movement, and distinctive looks to its ideal sizing, functionality, and robustness. But it's worth a closer look.
Here's the gist of it: Nomos Glashütte took its existing GMT concept and executed it in a version featuring a new Neomatik movement and housed it in the Club Sport collection. The functionality is the same, but the result is slimmer, the overall package is sportier, and its value proposition even stronger. And it looks absolutely killer.
GMTs are a hot category of watches, and Nomos Glashütte is a name with some well-earned hype behind it. It's a formula for buzz, but the form this watch took was unpredictably compelling. In eight variants, including six limited-edition colours, the Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer is only the third GMT model in the brand's current lineup. This review is based on a prototype of the limited-edition model known as 'Canyon.'
Worldtimer or GMT?
Nomos Glashütte calls this watch "Worldtimer," and its dial is ringed by city names. It doesn't lack justification, but the look and naming will inevitably cause some confusion. Why? Because this is a GMT watch, if an unconventional one, rather than a worldtimer in the strict, traditional sense.
Worldtimers and GMTs are both travel watches, but distinct categories: A GMT displays a second time zone in 24-hour format (usually via a hand) whereas a worldtimer shows the time in many time zones at once (usually on a ring). While they can reasonably be thus taxonomised, there are different ways of expressing these functions as well as the likes of subcategories of each.
