Ms. Sujata Kerkar's story is one of remarkable resilience, determination, and the transformative power of love and support. Growing up in a challenging environment, she defied the odds and became a respected dance teacher at a very young age, inspiring over a thousand students along the way. In this interview, Ms. Kerkar shares the pivotal moments that shaped her life and the lessons she imparts to others.

Early Challenges and the Turning Point

Ms. Kerkar's childhood was marked by hardship. "Growing up was not easy. My father struggled with alcoholism, and it was very terrible for all of us," she shares, recalling the turbulent atmosphere in her home. "My father would abuse my mother whenever he drank, and the fights would go on until night. There was no silence." The environment was emotionally taxing for her and her younger sister, both of whom were very young at the time.

However, it was her mother's courageous decision to enroll her and her sister in El Shaddai Charitable Trust that marked the turning point in their lives. "El Shaddai gave us everything-not only education but also love and care, just like their own family," Ms. Kerkar reflects. "They provided a roof over our heads, taught me to read and write, and, most importantly, how to believe in myself."
