WILD BEAVERS LEGALLY RELEASED IN ENGLISH RIVERS

Two pairs of beavers have been released into the wild in Purbeck, Dorset - the first to be released under government licence following decades of campaigning by wildlife and conservation groups.

Natural England will grant more licences to release beavers over the next year, allowing the semi-aquatic rodents to live wild in our landscapes centuries after they became extinct in Britain.
