I'm happy in MY OWN SKIN'

We all know that feeling of falling off the fitness wagon – life gets in the way and our exercise regime gets shoved on the backburner. The hardest part is getting back into it after some time off. But one person who’s not afraid to dust off those trainers is Fern Britton. The star has restarted Couch to 5K, which she first completed in summer 2023, and is even training for a big walking challenge later this year.

‘I’ve been lazy, I haven’t run for the last three months because I was finishing the book,’ she shared with her Instagram followers. ‘I started running again, just for the comfort of it, I like repetition. I’ve gone back to the beginning of Couch to 5K, so I’ve done that this morning which was just a one minute run and a 90-second walk, so that was good.’

Here, Fern reveals the details of her new training plan, and why she feels, at 67, she’s returned to the person she was in her 20s…

Not feeling your best? Even if you think you eat well, you might be falling short of all the vitamins and minerals you need. Deficiencies are linked to increased risk of dementia, depression, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity. The good news? 'It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for deficiencies to show, but tuning in to your appearance can help you to identify when something is wrong,' says nutritionist Jenna Hope.
