Water is often seen as just a thirst-quencher, but in reality, it is one of the most powerful natural medicines we have.
Since about 60% of our body weight is made up of water, keeping that balance nourished is vital for health and survival. Water is present in every cell, tissue, and organ of our body, ensuring that they function properly and stay in good shape. Unfortunately, despite its importance, many of us neglect proper hydration in our daily routines.
Why Water is Essential
When the body doesn't get enough water, we begin to experience tiredness, headaches, lack of concentration, and even a decline in memory and intelligence. This is because water plays a role in almost every process in the body:
Regulates Body Temperature: Our body can remain healthy only within a certain temperature range. Water helps regulate this through sweating, which cools us down.
Delivers Nutrients: Vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients from the food we eat must dissolve in water to be transported to our cells for growth, repair, and energy.
