How did your background in consulting shape your approach to leadership in the real estate industry?

Early days during construction, I was working with Price Water House and KPMG. At that point in time, I was in the division of mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring. Both were very interesting aspects of taxation and legal structuring, which also made me explore how and why businesses are structured and operated the way they are in large organizations, I also worked and looked into the business plans and organizations of multi-billion-dollar corporations.

What motivated your transition from consulting to real estate, particularly joining the family business?

At that point of time, my family also had a construction company, which was a company working in India and abroad. And that made me want to come back and work within my own system and framework to understand how a family business is run. When I came in with a professional background, BCD Construction was purely a promoter and a family run organization. And it was run by a team of closely knit family professionals and relatives.
