Who Do You Think You Are?

Tuesday, 9pm, BBC1

The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield grew up in Surrey with his parents, Richard and Lynn, knowing little about his Jewish background. So it’s an emotional journey when he answers some long-held questions about his heritage as genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are? returns to BBC1 this week.

‘I don't know much about my family history. I know there was an exodus from Poland to escape persecution on my dad's side,’ says Garfield, 41, who found fame with 2010 movie The Social Network.
