A WALK IN THE CLOUD

Cloud technology has revolutionized the way businesses and individuals store, access, and manage their data and applications. Cloud computing uses a network of remote servers that are accessible through the internet to store, manage, and process data instead of using a local server or personal computer. Cloud technology has become essential for many businesses because of its efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.

The name “Cloud” in cloud computing is used as a metaphor for describing a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet that allows users to store, process, and access data from any device with an Internet connection. The term cloud used in this context was inspired by the cloud symbol typically used to represent the Internet in diagrams and flowcharts.

The cloud symbol encloses the services, applications, and resources that exist outside of the user’s local machine, and it represents the idea that computing power, storage, and software can be accessed as a utility over the internet, just like electricity is supplied from power grids.

Additionally, the term “cloud” is used to represent the abstract nature of the technology. Since users don’t need to know where their data is physically stored or processed, it is located somewhere in the cloud. Hence the name cloud computing.

WHO USES CLOUD IN M&E

In the media and entertainment industry, cloud technology has gained significant prominence and is widely utilized for various purposes. Here are some ways in which the industry leverages cloud technology:
