It's all over socials, but are 'aura points' even a real thing?
The concept of 'aura points' has gained popularity on TikTok and Instagram. While it may appear to be just another online trend, the idea behind it taps into deeper themes of self-awareness, emotional intelligence and personal growth.
It has less to do with the esoteric idea of an aura (a colourful energy field surrounding your body) and everything to do with serving as a playful metric for evaluating your energy and presence - 'aura points' are gained through confidence, kindness and intentional living, and lost through negativity or inauthenticity.
As author and psychotherapist Nedra Glover Tawwab outlines in her book Set Boundaries, Find Peace, by being intentional about your choices, you're not just protecting your peace - you're building a stronger, more grounded version of yourself.
