Chris Hallam pays tribute to “a true movie star”
Towards the end of the 1960s, the actor Terence Stamp suddenly found work was drying up. “They are all looking for a young Terence Stamp,” his agent told him. Stamp was baffled. For one thing, he was young: he was barely 30 and, for another, he was Terence Stamp.
“I couldn't believe it,” he remembered later. “It was tough to wake up in the morning, and the phone not ringing. I thought this can’t be happening now, it’s only just started”.
