A NUMBER OF EXPERTS THINK THE NURSE MIGHT NOT HAVE COMMITTED MULTIPLE MURDERS

Branded as one of the UK's worst serial killers after she was convicted of the murders of multiple infants in her care, Lucy Letby will likely die in prison. However, there is a growing movement of people who think that rather than being a killer, Letby might actually be the victim of a horrific miscarriage of justice.

"We did not find murders," Dr Shoo Lee, a retired neonatal doctor and expert whose research was used to help convict Letby, said at a press conference in February.

His comments came after he led a panel of 14 pediatric specialists and neonatologists who reviewed the evidence used against Letby.

"In all cases, death or injury was due to natural causes or just bad medical care," Lee explained of what the group had concluded.

Letby, 35, is serving 15 life sentences for the murder of seven babies and the attempted murder of an additional seven, including one child she tried to kill twice. The deaths occurred while the nurse was working at the Countess of Chester Hospital in North West England between 2015 and 2016.
