KIMMEL’S SUSPENSION

On September 17, Jimmy Kimmel Live! was taken off air after host Kimmel, 58, received backlash for his commentary about President Trump and his supporters' reaction to Charlie Kirk's assassination. Amid a war of words between Kimmel and Trump, the show was reinstated, returning on September 23. Kimmel began the show with, “As I was saying before I was interrupted.”

During a July 17 taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host, 61, announced the show would end in May 2026 after 10 seasons. While the news came days after he called the $24 million settlement between CBS' parent company, Paramount, and President Trump a "big fat bribe", CBS insisted it was “purely a financial decision”. On November 3, Colbert told GQ, “This is not my choice. So I don't know how we're going to land this plane.”
