VISITING THE SKI SLOPES OF MERIBEL THE DUCHESS OF EDINBURGH MEETS MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES COMPETING IN WINTER SPORTS EVENT

The Duchess of Edinburgh Thit Alps last week when she joined members of the military as they showcased their impressive winter sports skills.

Sophie, who is patron of the UK Armed Forces Winter Sports Association, was in Méribel to watch this year's Interservice Snow Sports Championships, which includes downhill skiing, snowboarding and telemark - a combination of alpine and nordic disciplines.

Looking chic in a range of skiwear outfits including a fitted navy snow jacket, white ski boots and goggles, the Duchess handed out medals to members of the Army, Royal Navy and RAF, who competed against one another in the event in France's famous Three Valleys ski area.
