ON SMASHING FORM AS PATRON THE PRINCESS OF WALES IS QUEEN OF THE COURTS AT WIMBLEDON

Showing her passion for tennis, the Princess of Wales led a star-studded roll call of spectators in the first week of Wimbledon.

The keen sportswoman, who has been patron of the Lawn Tennis Association since 2016, when Elizabeth II stepped back from a number of royal patronages, wore a summery mint and white blazer by Balmain over a white pleated skirt, with pearl earrings by Shyla, bracelet by Sézanne and heels by Gianvito Rossi – court shoes, naturally.

The future Queen was welcomed with applause as she appeared in the Royal Box on Centre Court on day two of the tournament and, in turn, joined in a two-minute standing ovation for former Wimbledon king Roger Federer as the eight-time men’s singles winner was honoured for his illustrious career.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner, making his first appearance back at the hallowed London SW19 venue since retiring last September, appeared moved as he took his seat between the Princess and his wife Mirka.
