For instance, many love sitting off to the side at social gatherings to write or skipping social meetings altogether to hang with a good book. Also, many flock to libraries, bookstores, and book-related events.

ARIZONA

TUCSON FESTIVAL OF BOOKS (TucsonFestivalOfBooks.org). March 14-15, 2026; Tucson. Established in 2009, this is one of the largest book festivals in the U.S.

CALIFORNIA

BAY AREA BOOK FESTIVAL (Bay BookFest.org). May 30-31, 2026; Berkeley. Founded in 2015, featuring 250-300 authors on 15 stages.

LITERARY FESTIVAL OF WOMEN AUTHORS (LiteraryWomen.org/ festival). March 7, 2026; Long Beach. Featuring outstanding contemporary women authors since 1982.

L.A. TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS (Events.latimes.com/festivalof books). April 18-19, 2026; Los Angeles. Claims to be the country’s largest literary event.

DELAWARE

DELACONN (SecondVenturesLLC .com). November 8, 2025; Newark. Designed for book lovers and featuring authors in a variety of genres.

FLORIDA

AMELIA ISLAND BOOK FESTIVAL (AmeliaIslandBookFestival.org). February 28, 2026; Fernandina Beach. Dedicated to improving literacy skills in Northeast Florida since 2001.

BAM! FESTIVAL (BooksArtMusic .org). April 11, 2026; West Palm Beach. This festival brings together books, art, and music.

VENICE BOOK FAIR (VeniceBook Fair.com). March 28, 2026; Venice. Features writing and publishing workshops, as well as author booths.

WORD OF SOUTH FESTIVAL OF MUSIC AND LITERATURE (WordOfSouth Festival.com). April 24-26, 2026; Tallahassee. Founded in 2015, this is a festival of literature and music.
