Orchestrating India's digital symphony
Voice and Data
|July 2024
India's digital evolution, fueled by affordable tech and Al, is transforming networks with IP and Optical Convergence, crafting a harmonious future.

Powered by a significant drop in smartphone prices and mobility tariffs, the digital revolution is truly redefining how Indians work, live, and entertain. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 further spurred the adoption of digital infrastructure, hastening the shift to online platforms.
Over the last few years, the Government of India has also devised several initiatives, including Digital India, to promote a new way of life and doing business. The government is also spending heavily on building digital platform infrastructures (DPIs) and strengthening others, such as Aadhaar and Unified Payment Interface (UPI), to boost the digital economy and socioeconomic development.
In addition, the growing adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools by enterprises and individuals is expected to propel the country's digital economy.
According to Statista, the AI market in India touched USD 4.1 billion in 2023. A NASSCOM and Boston Consulting Group report indicates that India's AI market is growing at a CAGR of 25-35% and is projected to touch around USD 17 billion by 2027.
This surge in digitisation and evolving consumer behaviour are fuelling unprecedented data consumption, which demands a paradigm shift in the country's communication networks. The growing popularity of videos, online gaming, e-learning, and remote work has led to a massive increase in bandwidth demand, which is impossible to address with the traditional network approach.
