Sasken Technologies is developing multiple platforms that support high-throughput services for multi-orbit systems.

"MSS serves a variety of segments with varied data rates"

These segments cover agriculture, remote health, disaster management, and seamless connectivity for 5G/4G services. Notably, Sasken has launched the world’s first high-speed satellite broadband device for critical communications, the LTE-based mobile satellite equipment (MSE). Sasken Founder, Chairman, and MD rajiv C Mody, in an exclusive interview with Pradeep Chakraborty, shared details about the innovations, research, and investments in AI, Satcom, and related areas. Excerpts:

Sasken has invested in Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly in advancing the large language Model (llM) to the edge. How will these initiatives contribute to enhancing operational efficiencies and meeting client requirements?

Sasken is investing in AI and GenAI use cases on edge for target verticals such as automotive. As a case in point, we are developing use cases that run on the edge, such as an automotive cockpit assistant that leverages LLM. The smart cockpit assistant is planned to aid vehicle owners and riders and improve the vehicle ownership experience. The solution integrates automated voice recognition, speech transcription, and text-to-speech along with LLM models and is targeted to leverage GPU and AI engines on the edge.

What areas of semiconductors is Sasken focusing on, particularly in GenAI and custom solutions? How would these advancements impact the company’s business trajectory?

Sasken is investing in developing differentiated solutions by leveraging chipsets targeted for the automotive vertical at this point in time. We believe this investment will give us a competitive advantage and help accelerate our growth in automotive and digital businesses.
