GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ partners with Safran

GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Limited (GHASL), a subsidiary of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), recently announced significant collaboration with Safran Aircraft Engines Services India Pvt. Ltd (SAESIPL), a subsidiary of aerospace and defence company Safran. The two entities have entered into a land lease agreement that will pave the way for the establishment of an advanced engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility for LEAP turbofan engines at the GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park in Hyderabad.

Under the agreement, GHASL will provide Safran with the land required for the construction and operation of the state-of-the-art MRO facility. Covering an expansive area of 23.5 acres, the facility will boast approximately 36,500 sqm of builtup space, making it the largest MRO centre in the Saran aircraft engines etwork. This development aligns with India's aspirations to strengthen its position as a global aerospace hub and accelerate the growth of its domestic aviation ecosystem.
