FORMER F1 TEAM OWNER'S CAR UNDER THE HAMMER
Unique Cars
|Issue 506
A VERY rare car once belonging to a Formula One team owner went under the hammer at the Broadarrow 2025 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este Auction, selling for a whopping $693,000.

The 1966 Fiat Abarth OT 1300 137C Omologata Turismo model, with chassis number 0047, was created for international Group 4 competition. This particular car tasted victory in the 1.3-class of the 1967 Targa Florio held on the island of Sicily, competing in the classic event for a further two years.
The diminutive Fiat was once owned by Vincenzo Osella of the Osella Corse Formula One team and it has been with the seller and in storage for the past 37 years.
It features a distinctive roof-mounted periscope duct to aid in cooling the cockpit, earning it the nickname "Periscopio." Sitting behind the driver is a 1298cc inline four developing 147 horsepower at a raucous 8800rpm.
The lightweight and agile Italian pocket-rocket has a five-speed gearbox, self-locking differential, independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. For the time, it was incredibly advanced.

ALFA ROMEO SPIDER 1966-94
THE SHAPE introduced at Turin's 1966 Motor Show survived 28 turbulent years with just one significant restyle. Appropriately for a twin-cam, two-seat car it was called 'Duetto', and the man who won the competition to choose its name was rewarded with one of the first-built examples.
