A space created to inspire a sense of connection and community, IF.BE has since become a sanctuary for talent.
In the historic district of Ballard Estate in South Mumbai stands IF.BE-once a modest ice factory that has now turned into a nucleus for conversations centred on design and the creative arts. Carefully conserved and restored by Kamal Malik of Malik Architecture (who took home the "Custodian of Culture" award at the AD100 event in March for his mindful interventions at IF.BE) the space wraps around a 147-year-old banyan tree that takes pride of place in the courtyard.
