The Riding for the Disabled Association’s new leader wants as many people as possible to benefit from horses’ power
THE new CEO of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) has said an “enormous thank you” to all involved – and urged others to get on board.
Kathryn England replaces Paul Ringer, who had been leading RDA since Ed Bracher stepped down last year.
“It’s really exciting to be here,” she told H&H.
Ms England worked for the RSPCA, and for the past 10 years has been running London Zoo. She has also evented and ridden with the Pony Club.
“My RDA journey started aged 14, when I did my Duke of Edinburgh volunteering with my local branch,” she said. “I’ve remained aware of the amazing work RDA does ever since, and it’s a joy to come full circle.”
Last year the RDA set out a new strategy, aiming to support an extra 10,000 people by 2025. Ms England said this is still largely the plan, but viewed in light of the effects of Covid, and now the cost of living.
