Singer Louise opens up on how she copes with being called a bad mother

She’s been vocal about the fact she ended her marriage to Jamie Redknapp in 2017 to focus on ‘renewed ambitions’. But, despite the pair moving in a good direction and trying to work things out, Louise has now revealed how her choice to put herself and her music career first has led to her being labelled a ‘bad mother’ to sons Charley, 15, and Beau, 10, who she shares with former footballer Jamie.

The 44-year-old singer often posts racy pictures to her Instagram account to promote her new music, which has led to insults being thrown her way on a regular basis.

Facing the trolls

Speaking on Paul Mckenna’s The Positivity Podcast, Louise explained, ‘I went through a time where I think I was taking bullets pretty much every day from people who’d never met me, and being told, “You’re a bad mum” or “you’ve left your children” – and, of course, those things aren’t true.

‘I’m not promoting myself as a mother, I’m promoting myself as a singer and performer, and I sometimes get comments like, “Are you ever even with your kids?”’
