When Sophie Ellis Bextor and her husband, The Feeling bassist Richard Jones, welcomed their fifth child Mickey Jones in January, they were over the moon. But, with a houseful already made up of four sons, ranging from ages 15 to three, the couple were also undoubtedly nervous about having such a big brood – Sophie even joked when she announced her pregnancy that she was ‘mental’ for having a fifth child.

Now, seven months on, the singer, 40, has confessed that she actually finds having five children easier than three.
