More yellows, but still Sale power onwards

SALE won at The Rec for the first time since March 2014 as Bath lost at home for a record sixth time in a Premiership season.
Sale triumphed despite adding to their disastrous disciplinary record. They collected another three yellow cards to leave them one short of the Premiership record for most yellows in a season. Sale’s tally is now 21 with Leicester next worst on 15.
Missing a number of scoring chances also didn’t help. First they splintered at a driving maul when looking certain to score. Jean-Luc du Preez then lost the ball over the line, and AJ MacGinty missed three kicks.
However, their commitment couldn’t be faulted, with Tom Curry and Faf de Klerk at the forefront, and Curtis Langdon touching down from a driving maul three minutes from time to clinch victory.
Sale’s director of rugby, Alex Sanderson said: “Tom was captain fantastic as he kept it all together and to keep them out with 13 was terrific.
