Mariner Girls Team Stays Strong Through Holiday Break
Island Ad-Vantages
|1/2/2020
Deer Isle—The girls basketball team beat Jonesport 57-39 on December 18. We held a comfortable lead throughout, and everyone got to play. We had balanced scoring with Rylee Eaton 15 points, Kaylee Morey and Macey Brown each with 12, and Peyton Rice and Brienna Limeburner each with eight.
The girls beat Bucksport 62-40 on December 23, leading by double digits throughout the game. Everyone played and we had balanced scoring again with Rylee Eaton at 20 points, Kaylee Morey 15, Macey Brown with six, and five players with four each.
The girls went to the Cross Center and lost a close game with Greenville 39-35 on December 28. We did not shoot well and, again, Greenville put a player to shadow Rylee Eaton all over the court. The score was tied at the half and we managed a four-point lead after three quarters. Our offense sputtered after that.
