The inspiring fitness story from the kitchen.
-
I am Sameer Ali. I hail from a village named Palvancha in Telangana Hyderabad. I started my career as a gym attendant, cleaning and collecting fee. The fitness rage started in me by seeing the people who used to come for workout in the same place. Hence the interest in having a good physique inspired me and kept me alive. After sometime, I left my work at the gym and started modeling and dancing which further motivated me for fitness. In 2005, I got an opportunity to work as a kitchen trainee in one of the restaurants in Bangalore.
Since it was my first experience working in the kitchen, I had limited time for any gym workouts, but the urge to build a body was always there in my priority. It was difficult to work 10 to 12 hours and create time for workout, however I made sure that I do it religiously. Later I moved to Mumbai with the same profession, but then it was again difficult to find enough time for the work outs. I had to travel hours in the local trains, focus on my career to support my family. But then it was crucial for me to find time for my dream as well.
By the end of 2011, I got an opportunity to join with Sports Bar in Nigeria as an executive Chef. In the first 4 months, I put my entire focus on the work and skipped the fitness factor as I had to learn the process. Once I got settled with the job, the Restaurant provided me with an accommodation. I went and enquired the gym tariff and found that It was out of my reach. I went to earn money and not to spend as the rates were 11000 Indian rupees per month. I felt low and depressed, but when the tough gets going, we have to stay stronger and find a way to cut through it.
