Ancient literature of Ayurveda has explored the importance of Jala(Water). Jala is a life, Jeevanashraya for everyone. Jala has a Gunas of all Six Rasas like (Madhura, Amla, Lavana, Katu, Tikta, and Kashaya) since due to its unique property to dissolve each and every Rasa individually. And synonyms of Jala are Vaari, Aap, Vaara, Salila, Kamala, Payas, Kilaala, Amruta, Jivana, Bhuvaa Vana, Kabanda, Udaka, Paatha, Pushkara, Sarvathomukha, Ambha, Arna, Toya, Paniya, Neera, Ksheera, Ambhu, Shambhar, Visha etc. And based on the property and depending on Rutu Kala, Sheetajala, Ushnajala are the two types advised and indicated in treatment also in daily regimen.

Ayurveda is blessed with its basic principles, treatments and also prevention techniques like Dincharya, Rutucharya, and Sadvrutta to be well-being. And Administration of medicines with particular Anupana is only described in Ayurveda, Liquid medium which is given with or after food or with medicine is called as Anupana. “USHNAJALA”A Warm water is one of the choicest Anupana which prevents from the disease, also chosen in care and cure of diseases.
Jala or Ushnajala (Warm water) is not only essential for physiological aspects but also necessary to perform daily routine works. Different researchers had investigated the role of Ushnajala (Warm water) in different disease like; acute toxicity, gastric burn and in constipation. It stimulates hunger and helps indigestion. It is good for the throat and makes food to digest easily. It cleans the urinary bladder and relieves one from such symptoms as the hiccup, flatulence and aggravation of Vata and Kapha doshas. Ushnajala acts on Agni, Dosha, Dhatu, Mala, srotas. It can be used in particular vyadhiavastha. Also it is used in sheeta rutu.
The Ushnodaka is ideal for those who are suffering from fevers, cough with cold and accumulation of undigested substances, running of the nose, Allergic conditions, dyspnoea and pain in the flanks on the days of Purification therapy. In the condition of Biopurificatory Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapies or procedures “Ushnajala” (Warm water) plays a vital role in care and curative aspects of Panchakarma therapies. In Panchakarma therapies, Ushnajala as an Anupana in daily routine life impacts on body for health. Also Jala (Water) is best Anupana which is easily available in maintaining the Samavastha of Doshas and Agni and relives the toxins from human body.
