The house of Torani is a potpourri of nostalgic memories of fables that designer Karan Torani’s grandmother told him while he was growing up. There were countless little things about her that made her the ultimate muse for Torani. But mostly it was her simplicity and a certain timeless charm that left a haunting memory on his mind. As a natural progression, he always found a way of connecting nostalgia and simplicity to the Indian looms and crafts, thus was born his label. A blast from the past, yet laced in contemporary flavours, his clothes are charismatic and always ready to take you back to your roots. In conversation with Karan Torani to get to know his work a little more closely.
