Helen Flanagan Tells Us About Her Return to Corrie, Her Baby Daughter, Matilda, and Why She’s a Celtic Fan!

WE CAN’T REALLY BELIEVE that the serene, smiling beauty sitting in front of us is the same manic, strung-out girl who freaked out about literally everything on the 2012 series of it’s I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but according to Helen Flanagan, who recently returned to Coronation Street as Rosie Webster, that’s motherhood for you. ‘Becoming Matilda’s mum 18 months ago has changed me a lot,’ the 26-year-old actress tells Soaplife. ‘I've matured, and I have more perspective on life,’ she says. 'And I also have more purpose. I'm much happier, and I feel settled and content. Walking through the door after work and seeing how excited Matilda is to see me is the best thing ever.’ We think Helen being back in Corrie is pretty darned good, too! 

It’s five years since you left the Street, Helen… Why have you left it so long?

I've wanted to come back for a while, but this is the first time I've been asked. The timing’s perfect, actually, because I now feel okay about leaving Matilda and coming back to work. I'm really lucky because my mum looks after Matilda when I'm working.

Is it hard juggling motherhood and work?
