“GSPs Are Heavily Dependent On GSTn For Everything They Want To Do”

In a conversation with PC Quest Nitin Mishra, EVP Technology, GSTN speaks about the overall GSTN formula of handling the GSPs

What are the challenges GSTN has faced in the start? 

Initially it was thought for 60-50 lakhs taxpayers who would have been interacting with the system so we have been interacting with the system. So we have at least 1 crore taxpayers. So of course the problem was supposed to be there. We learn from the system. Because no system in the world has the massive transformation. We did look at all the possibilities. We improved our reporting, we improved our workflows. A lot of steps have been taken when we realized that the tax payers are committing mistakes. And what we did is we basically have this facility and we are very much in constant touch with our taxpayers. Yeah we have lots of challenges, lots of user’s behaviors like we never knew how the users will behave while using this facility. We never knew that people will put all their charge in reverse charges and are sitting with the huge set of liabilities.

As a technology backbone how you merged the practices to handle GSPs?
