Story telling Coach

How, when and why did you get interested in storytelling?

I have always been interested in stories, since childhood. However I started engaging with storytelling about 20 years ago as an advertising professional. My interest developed further when I started studying mythology and myths in popular culture. And my work in Theatre as an actor gave this interest a further boost. A course in Film Appreciation and exposure to cinema from around the world helped deepen my understanding of stories and all of this finally culminated in the forming of Story wallahs 4 years ago.

In your experience, what are the kinds of stories that interest and impress kids the most? Why?

Earthy Expressions

Folk art and tribal art are easily recognizable - bright colours, bold strokes, quaint ways of representing people and animals. Many actually tell a tale! India being a vast country and with so many agricultural communities and tribes living close to nature, many art forms have evolved. Many have all but disappeared. Fortunately, there is an interest in such traditional art forms and efforts are being made to revive some of them. In the next few months, we will embark on a journey learning more about some of such art forms.

Switzerland Part1

As we alighted from the train and exited Monaco station, a cool sea breeze enveloped us, as if it were a natural welcome for returning again! Our immediate task-to figure out where the rest of the contingent was, so that we could join them and return back to Cannes, for the night. However, it was not going to be easy and the next couple of hours were filled with anxiety and mild panic.
