The Hills Are Alive

This might well be the 17th running of Volksfest Wales, or Volksfest Wales, VAG & Classic Porsche Show, to give it its full title, but there have been a few changes since last year. There’s now a new team involved with the running of the show and it’s the show’s third different location in three years. This year the show has moved right into the middle of Wales, halfway up a mountain in the Brecon Beacons and they say there are planning to stay at this new venue for the foreseeable future. Although it’s not as easy to access from the M4 as it was last year. There was limited overnight camping available on Thursday 18th, with the main show kicking off on the Friday and carrying on until Sunday. Arrive on Friday for the family or general camping and you’d have paid £25 per person, or £5 for kids aged 10-15, while children younger than that were free of charge. Adult day passes for Saturday or Sunday were £5 each with under 15s getting onto the site for free. Those camping with a club could have their own personal club toilet - for no extra charge! A nice touch. This year’s charity was SSAFA - Soldier&rsquo
