Dr P B Jayasundera, Secretary to the Treasury and Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Planning, continues to stress the positive progress made by Sri Lanka despite challenges. Many do not realise that Sri Lanka is a new economy, which is only four years old and the progress we have made is commendable when compared to other post-conflict nations.
Dimitri Gvindadze, the former Finance Minister of Georgia shared his thoughts on his visit to Sri Lanka where he delivered a lecture at the Eminent Speaker Series at the MILODA Academy of Financial Studies. He was part of the team which transformed Georgia into a liberal fast growing economy. Georgia and Sri Lanka are almost similar in terms of GDP per capita; the two countries have much to learn from each other.
Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the telecommunication giant of Sri Lanka has been in the industry for nearly 150 years and as the country is undergoing rapid development, the Group is gearing up to perform its share in realising the country’s vision of becoming the Wonder of Asia. Lalith De Silva, the first Sri Lankan CEO of SLT post privatisation shares his views.
