When our cup is empty, how the hell are we supposed to pour into anyone else? If you are struggling to show up for those you love, you need to start by asking, 'How am I showing up for myself?'.

This question hit me hard during my years as a single mum to three kids under five. I was pouring everything into my children and my career, but my own health had completely fallen off the radar. My inner doctor, the character driven by the goal of feeling good and healthy, focused on physical, mental and emotional health, had been written out of my script entirely.

Your doctor character is saving workouts and possible meditation retreats on TikTok, but this is not a second-generation almond mum. We all have an inner doctor that cares about us from a place of self-love, not self-hate. The problem is, when you're in the thick of motherhood, this character often gets lost.
