'I'M NOT AMBITIOUS ANY MORE'

She's been spending a whole weekend with famous faces - including Little Mix's Perrie Edwards and Spice Girl Mel B - to find out what really makes them tick for her latest show. And Alison Hammond admits to us that at times, she 'felt like a counsellor'.

Loving every second of her big new BBC1 series, Alison whose model boyfriend of just over a year, David Putman, turns 28 on 23 May - chats to Woman's Own about how it felt to live with the celebrities, turning 50 and why she is more determined than ever to put her friends and family first...

Tell us more about your new series, Alison Hammond's Big Weekend. How was it spending 48 hours with big showbiz names?

It's been great and they did want to talk! At times, I felt like a counsellor. What is great about this show is there is always something you find out that you probably didn't know before - take Perrie, for instance. You have this confident pop star but in real life, she had a childhood illness and it was emotional hearing the amount of stress she has been through in life. Luke Evans was eye-opening talking about his bullying, as was Sir Lenny Henry and the grief he suffered when his mum died. I would love to do another series.
