As ITV Daytime faces cuts, things are growing tense behind the scenes

When the cuts at ITV Daytime were announced earlier this year, it seemed that Good Morning Britain came out on top, with its scheduled programming not being reduced - unlike Lorraine and Loose Women.

Instead, from January 2026, GMB will see its runtime extended, taking an extra half an hour that has been cut from Lorraine. But, despite this, we're told that backstage tensions have reached an all-time high as ITV prepares for its biggest ever bloodbath. Competition for jobs and the fallout over who is ‘safe’ and who isn’t is now ‘beyond vicious’, one TV insider reported. And while it is understood that none of GMB’s star-studded cast of presenters, including Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins, Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh, are set to lose their jobs, rows over contracts and job losses are said to be rife.
