APPLE EXPANDS FITNESS+ WITH NEW PROGRAMS, STRAVA CHALLENGE, AND ACTIVITY AWARDS

Apple outlined a new set of updates for its Fitness+ service and Apple Watch activity features, adding structured workout programs, limited-time challenges, and new audio walking content designed to support users during the early months of the year.

The updates center on Apple Fitness+ and the Apple Watch, expanding both the motivational elements tied to Activity Rings and the variety of guided workouts available to subscribers.

One of the changes includes a limited-edition New Year award that Apple Watch users can earn by closing all three Activity Rings for seven consecutive days in January. Apple continues to use time-bound awards as a way to encourage consistency rather than single-day performance spikes.

Apple is also partnering with Strava on a January challenge titled “Quit Quitting.”The challenge runs throughout the month on Strava and requires participants to log 12 workouts at any point in January. Users who complete the challenge receive a special Apple Watch badge within the Strava app, extending Apple's fitness ecosystem beyond its own platforms.
