UK SCENE WILSON WINS AT CLAYTON SPRING CLASSIC HANDICAP

Simon Wilson (HUUB WattShop) proved victorious in a wet and windy edition of the Clayton Spring Classic Handicap in Lancashire on Sunday.

The 44-year-old from Manchester, who last won the early-season classic 11 years ago and only entered the race at the 11th hour, thought everyone else was racing for second after an early break by Jake Edwards (360cycling) lasted five laps.

But he was caught on the final lap, and Wilson won the sprint for the line.
