Sproson says players have to ‘make it happen’
PHIL Sproson believes Port Vale’s task is becoming increasingly difficult as they head to a huge League One clash against Huddersfield Town today.
The Vale legend admits the task could soon become insurmountable if the club’s fortunes continue to sink in the way they have over the past few League One matches.
The former defender has reflected on what he described as a ‘bitterly disappointing’ result for Vale against Peterborough United last time out.
Speaking on BBC Radio Stoke, Sproson, below, was asked where Vale go from here after their rivals all picked up positive results while they were beaten 1-0 at Vale Park to stay bottom, eight points adrift of safety, with manager Darren Moore's job under increasing scrutiny.
"It's become a very difficult task to catch people,’ said Sproson. “The gap now is even harder but it doesn’t mean to say you give up.
“It doesn’t mean to say you throw the towel in. You have to fight and you have to take responsibility as an individual and as a footballer.
