TONY Pulis is pleading with Stoke City supporters to stay patient regardless of a strong start to the season and realise the work that Mark Robins still has to do.

Stoke won four of their first five matches in their best start to a term at Championship level since 1978 while Robins was clearly frustrated with the performance level in the sixth, a 1-0 defeat at QPR on Saturday, despite staying in second.

Pulis understands the amount of change that the manager and sporting director Jon Walters have already overseen to hopefully put the club in a stronger position to be competitive - but he insists the most important thing is genuine progress, not trying to find overnight success.
