Heartache as high-speed wheelie biker mows down 'fun-filled' Staffy

Pet suffered broken spine and had to be put down following hit-and-run collision

PET owner Jacqueline Hulme has been left heartbroken after 'dangerous' bikers mowed down and killed her beloved dog in a hit-and-run crash.

The 47-year-old's son was walking Staffordshire bull terrier Diesel when the animal was hit by a motorcycle travelling at 'breakneck' speed.

The 'fun-filled' five-year-old's injuries were so severe it had to be put down following the May 20 collision.

Mrs Hulme, of Stanfield, said her street has been plagued by bikers for a year and Diesel was scared of them. When he saw this one he 'went crazy' and 'snapped off the lead and ran at it'.

She added: "The guy on the motorbike was doing a wheelie and going really fast. By the time he'd put his wheel down, it was too late.
