CA Confirms Manalo as UN Rep, Envoys, Generals

The Commission on Appointments (CA) yesterday confirmed the nomination of former foreign affairs secretary Enrique Manalo as permanent representative to the United Nations, as well as the appointments of 20 officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and 23 officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Those from the DFA were Ambassadors Francisco Fernandez (Vietnam), Patrick Hilado (Brazil, Guyana and Suriname), Jaime Ramon Ascalon Jr. (Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan), Gines Jaime Ricardo Gallaga (Bahrain), Pablito Mendoza (Denmark), Marlowe Miranda (Lebanon) and Noel Novicio (Fiji).
