Maestra Irma, beautiful and imposing, did such as a performer. She starred in operas, zarzuelas and other works for the stage here and abroad. Some of these are "Carmen,""Tosca," "Turandot," "Aida" and "La Boheme."

She even recorded an album of Filipino classics, "Iniibig Kita," with the London Symphony Orchestra. She founded the Vocal Ensemble of the Philippines which excelled in Filipino songs and which toured the world as cultural ambassadors.
